Focus groups to gain insight

A focus group is a group interview whereby a number of people participate in a group dialogue/discussion. Each group generally consists of 6 to 8 respondents. The discussion is led by an interview leader. This leader, known as a moderator, ensures that the focus group works correctly. The moderator is in fact the researcher who ensures that the research is directed effectively.

An effective way of gathering useful information

A focus group (sometimes known as a round-table interview) can serve various purposes. The purpose is always to gather information on a certain subject. This is a qualitative research method. The dynamics established within the group dialogue will put the spotlight on the most important elements.
